Membership

MEMBERSHIP

Any member of the English Bridge Union who has not chosen another County Association as his or her county of prime allegiance is eligible to become a full member.   Membership of the EBU is automatic for members in good standing of a club affiliated to the Union.   Others may join by direct subscription – for details, click on “Useful Links” and from there to the EBU website.

EBU members may choose their county of prime allegiance, and may change this once in each year.   In the absence of a choice, members are allocated to the county of the first club that registered them as a club member.   Thus those who play regularly in clubs affiliated to Berks & Bucks will normally be members of this County Association, this will not be the case if their prime allegiance is elsewhere.

Full members do not pay a subscription, but anyone, whether member or guest, playing in an EBU affiliated club pays a “pay to play” charge each time they do so.   Affiliated clubs do pay an annual subscription.   The rates for the financial year commencing on 1st April 2020 are as follows.
