Friendly Pairs for the Tony Boothroyd Plate - for pairs with an NGS rating of Jack or less.
Only Level 2 systems and conventions are allowed.
To be played at SBBC on Sunday 15th November 2026 starting at 1:30pm.
Free tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout.
We will play 20-24 boards (depending on the number of entries) and hope to finish by 5.30pm There will be two sessions with a 10 minute break.
Prizes will be awarded as per the county's standard pairs prize table. Also note that the highest placed 9 high pair will also receive a prize.
Entries for this event MUST be received by 5:00 pm on the day BEFORE the event.
To assist in planning the event, entries should be submitted as soon as possible. The event will be cancelled if less than 5 tables entered by 10th November.

Later entrants may still be accepted, but they should phone the Event Director on the County mobile (07401 079752) after 8:00 am on the day of the event.
Players turning up at an event unexpectedly will not be guaranteed to be allowed to play.
The above number should also be used in the event of a late cancellation.

| ABOUT OUR FRIENDLY EVENTS |
These three friendly events are aimed at players who would not normally compete in county competitions.
They are designed for regular and less experienced club players to play in a friendly and relaxed county environment.
We make special efforts to ensure that the events take place in a friendly atmosphere and so, no matter how inexperienced you feel you are, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
The Tony Boothroyd Plate is only open to pairs with a rating of Jack or less on the date of registering to play in the Tournament.

The event is only open to players with an NGS Rating of Jack or less. Enter the NGS Rating of each player (e.g. 9 & 8) in the relevant box. If you are not able to provide both NGS Ratings, please put an explanation in this box. You will not be able to submit the entry if this box is left blank.
The "Comment or Special Requirements" box is to be used a) to request special requirements (disabled requirements, stationary table etc.), or b) to notify subsequent changes to a previous entry (changed players, withdrawn the entry, etc.).

| WHAT IS LEVEL 2? |
In order to make this event more "friendly", playing conventions are restricted to Level 2. Most likely this will not affect less experienced players. But more experienced players will not be allowed to play some of the more "aggressive" conventions. A "Multi 2-Diamond" opening is an example of such a convention - but there are other restrictions.
