Do You Know About ERBA?

WHAT IS ERBA?

Eastern Region Bridge Association [ERBA] was established in 1955 and is the umbrella organization for the six Gippsland clubs. The charter is "to foster interest in, and promote the game of Bridge in the region."

The position of President is a two year tenure and the vice-president is selected from the next club in rotation who will become the next President for two years . All clubs will in turn, select a President.

WHAT DOES ERBA DO?

  • Promotes Annual Regional Championships which are run in rotation in the three geographical areas ie:

Paynesville, Bairnsdale, Traralgon, Sale, South Gippsland and Phillip Island.

  • Provides a free bus pick-up from areas 1 to 3, two years out of every three.
  • Provides financial support for entry fees and travel expenses for members in the ERBA Championships who are representing the region in major events in Victoria and Interstate.
  • Co-ordinates dates for the GNOT Heats so that one full day session is held at each of the six clubs.
  • Contributes to the expenses of the GNOT Finalists to play in the Interstate finals.
  • Provides workshops as required and lobbies for financial assistance to run these workshops from the VBA, ABF and Future Bridge
  • Some of the subjects for these workshops are:

Directing, Managing Red Point Events, Computer training for Major Scoring Programs, Masterpointing, Bridge Lessons and MasterClasses.

  • ERBA is financed by an annual  contribution from each of the clubs.
