ABF Australia-Wide Novice Pairs


Bill and Heather Cornwall were the club winners of the ABF Australia-Wide Novice Pairs. They scored an impressive 62.5%. Jan Gamble and Mary Brown closely followed in 2nd place and Ruth Eaton and Kathleen Cassidy came 3rd. Nationally, Bill and Heather were placed 93rd. Well done team!

Sale ERBA Novice Swiss Pairs

Andrew Wood and Tony Peck were the winners of the 2025 Sale ERBA Novice Swiss Pairs held on Saturday 15th February. They are pictured with outgoing ERBA president Jean Macleod.

Welcome to Bairnsdale Bridge Club

Bairnsdale Bridge Club

Bairnsdale Bridge Club runs duplicate bridge sessions on Monday evening 7.00 pm, Friday 12.00 noon and Saturday 12.00 noon. The club runs regular Duplicate Pairs as well as other red and gold point pairs and teams events. Supervised bridge (non-competitive) is on Tuesday at 1.00 pm and Thursday evening 7.00pm (starting Sept 25). Table fees are $7per player per session. Tea and coffee provided all day, hot and savoury food provided on special event days. Come along and relax in a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere and enjoy a game of Bridge.

Winners of the 2026 President Pairs were Terry and Nick Nadebaum. Runner up pairs were Robynne Owen/Lorraine Griffiths and Anna Kearon/Ann Gibbs respectively.

Congratulations to Robynne Owen and Sandor Varga who won the Bairnsdale Club Championship Pairs event held on 24th and 31st October, 2025. Carole Sorby & Jennifer Coverdale followed in 2nd place with Faye McMillan & Phillip Goode coming 3rd.

Joint winners of the 2025 Joan Quartermanche Open section Lorraine Robinson, Rosie Schwabegger, Jean Macleod and Henry Gasko. In second place by a whisker Peter Nuyens and Ron Wilson.

Heather Cornwall, Tony Peck, Kaye Munro & Bill Cornwall were the winners of the 2025 Lawrence Riveria Teams event held on Tuesday 9th. Runners up were John Haylock, Roger Wilson, Henry Gasko & Mal Robertson.

Anniversary Pairs

Congratulations to Robynne Owen and Sandor Varga who won the Bairnsdale Red Point Anniversary Pairs event held on 20th and 27th June, 2025. Nick and Terry Nadebaum followed in 2nd place with Lorraine Robinson and Rosie Schwabegger coming 3rd.

In the teams event Anna Kearon, Jean Macleod, Sandor Varga and George Campbell came 6th.
