All-day event comprising morning and afternoon sessions, with lunch included.

Two separate classes.

1 Simple Bridge in a Day

For those who have never played bridge before, or who have not done so for many years.

The day will concentrate on playing the cards, using Minibridge as the template.  You will learn how to play with a partner, evaluate your hand, choose your contract, how to win tricks playing in a suit or no trumps and the basic rules and etiquette of Bridge.

Arrival at 10.00am for coffee in preparation for a prompt start at 10.30am.

Lunch is included.

Afternoon session will end around 16.30pm.

How to enrol

Payment in full is required to secure your place in either class.  This should be paid  into the club account:  Avenue Bridge Club, Barclays Bank, Sort Code 20-88-13        Account 93986020         

The fee for Simple Bridge in a Day is £45 per person.  

The Bank Reference is SS1 name   eg SS1 DDuck . 

The fee for Michael Byrne is £60 per person.  

The Bank Reference is SS2 name   eg SS2 CRobin

All bookings should be confirmed by end Wednesday 23 July.  This is required by The Lido.  Anybody wishing to book after this date should email me asap.

Getting there

Saltdean Lido faces across the main A279 coast road seawards, at Saltdean and cannot be missed either on the bus or driving!  Entrance to the main building is at the back of the pool area, on Saltdean Park Road.  Visitors go in through the main doors.  Make sure you don’t end up in the Library instead.

Buses 12, 12X, 14 and 27 all stop at Saltdean Lido on the main road.  It is a 4 minute walk to the Lido building, down the hill and turning right into Saltdean Park Road.

Car parking on site is free for Bridge School participants but it is not reserved.  The car park is opposite the entrance to the building.  Bearing in mind it is school holidays, you may wish to car share as much as possible.  At reception you must log in your car registration as requested.

Both classes are being held on the first floor.  Stairs are opposite the entrance doors.  There is a lift.

Lunch

A finger buffet lunch is included which includes vegetarian options.  Please let us know of any dietary preferences.
