2020 Xmas Lunch
2020 Christmas Lunch Report

A very nice ‘Christmassy' lunch was enjoyed by 29 bridge members at the Club on the 1st December.  The event was held observing the Club’s strict Covid rules.  The standard of catering and service was of the highest order.

It was a great pleasure to make contact with everyone after such a long time.  Our thoughts and best wishes go out to Helen and Geoffrey who sadly had to pull out due to ill health.

At the lunch I remarked that a number of Clubs are starting face to face (more accurately, mask to mask) bridge.  Their rules include wearing masks, using personal hand sanitisers, and the use of individual bidding boxes.  I am suggesting (all correspondence welcome) that we get 8 sets of bidding boxes ie 32 individual boxes, and in the meantime observe the progress and success of the Clubs that have begun playing and seek feedback from Bill.

As we usually, don’t play in January we could be ready to commence in February all going well.  This should be encouraging news for the Goldfields excursion organisers and members.

The committee will continue to keep you updated throughout the next few weeks on any significant bridge news.

Please accept our best wishes for Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Best Wishes
The Bridge Committee
