We're All Going On An Autumn Holiday ... UPDATED
We're All Going On An Autumn Holiday ... UPDATED

It will be 2 years next month since our last annual bridge holiday was cancelled so we thought it was time to look at arranging another one. Wroxton House Hotel near Banbury looks suitable. At the moment there are vacancies for the 6th October 2022 for 4 nights.

And, just in case you were worrying, organiser Val Bobbins has now been assured that, should anyone wish to cancel because of illness or crisis, there will be NO charge. Neither Guaranteed Events nor the hotel take a deposit and you pay on arrival.

Val said: "Hopefully this will reassure anyone who would like to go but was worried about future events resulting in cancellation."

Here are the details.†The cost would be:

£379 PP for a shared double or twin

£429 for a sole use double.

INCLUDES:

  • Half Board accommodation, welcome drink reception, all bridge fees and holiday prize vouchers.

  • Free parking on site (70 spaces).

The Banbury Wroxton House Hotel BW Signature Collection by Best Western

Highly recommended hotel offering a superior level of quality within their star rating, high standards of hotel keeping in particular hospitality, service and cleanliness and hold two AA Rosette awards for the quality of their food.†The hotel offers a traditional charm in the delightful Cotswold village of Wroxton, just 2 miles from Banbury. With Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Oxford and Birmingham all nearby, the location is as convenient as it is beautiful.†This is a rare opportunity to experience the appeal of this thatched manor house, dating in parts to 1649. Think cosy corners, log fires and sumptuous interiors where you can enjoy a truly professional service with relaxed style.

A trip to the heart of England wouldn't be complete without a visit to some (or all) of the many architectural delights it boasts. From Warwick Castle and Blenheim Palace, the Cathedrals of Oxford and Coventry, to the many National Trust and English Heritage properties you'll never be short of things to do or sights to see when you stay at the Wroxton House Hotel.

The journey from Norwich is 2 hours 54mins and approximately 148 miles. Itís only 25 mins away from the Bicester Village outlet famed for its bargain shopping.

  Individual Handicap Competition

This competition runs from April through to March and is generally played for once a month. It is designed so that regular players can be in with a chance of winning one of the club competition.

The handicap is arrived at by calculating the average score in the previous 12 months and dividing that into 50. Those who have played fewer than 20 times in that period are not eligible for a handicap. For example, if the average over 30 sessions is 48%, then the handicap is 50/48 = 1.04.

All session results in the handicap competition are multiplied by the handicap to produce a result. For example, a score of 50.5% is multiplied by the handicap of 1.04 to get a handicapped score of 52.5%.

To qualify for the handicap competition members must play a minimum of 6 of the sessions, and only the best 6 scores will count if more are played.
