It is with great sadness we learn that Ernest died in hospital on Friday 29th January. Ernest had been a long time member of our Storrington club and will be remembered for his very dry sense of humour and his ability to continue playing despite difficulties with his health. He will be much missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Irene and their family at this difficult time. 
 

It is with great regret and much sadness we announce that Roger Herman passed away peacefully on Saturday 23rd January. He was 85. Roger was one of life's characters and we saw that from the moment he began playing at our Storrington club in February 2010. He had what can only be described as a colourful sense of humour and a passion for the game. Renowned for refusing to play any conventions with whomsoever he played, his results were a testament to the principle of 'simply' watching and playing the cards.

My first recollection of Roger was playing against him at the Sun Alliance Bridge Club in 1974. He was a force to be reckoned with and, over 40 years later, he continued to be so until his stroke kept him away. He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sue and the rest of their family at this difficult time.

We are sorry to hear that Mick passed away on Saturday 19th September after a longer illness than many of us were aware. Mick was a member of our Storrington club for over four years and was playing with us until the end of June. Our thoughts are with Joy and his family and friends at this difficult time.

Many of you at the Storrington club will remember Joy & Jim Watson and we are sad to announce Jim's death on 22nd December. Our thoughts are with Joy and the rest of the family at this upsetting and difficult time.

Jim's funeral will be held on 4th January 2011 and further details can be obtained by telephoning Eddie or Elizabeth Fisher.

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Jane Harland who passed away on Friday 25th February after a six month battle against cancer. Jane had been a regular player at Storrington until last year and she will be missed. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this distressing time.

Jane's funeral is at Worthing Crematorium, Findon, on Monday 7th March at 10.30 am.

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Christa Palmer (Storrington) on Thursday 12th January at St Barnabas Hospice. Christa had been a member of the club and one of its characters for many years. She will be greatly missed.

Christa's funeral is on Wednesday 25h January at 12 noon at St Mary's, Storrington. We have no inforamtion on flowers or donations.
