Congrats to All of You!
Barbara Alesi died from kidney failure in late July. Born in Ohio, she and her husband Lou were the parents of three and grandparents of two. For many years, they spent their summers in Colorado and then Pennsylvania and the winters in La Quinta. Barbara was quite a good bridge player but had played little in the last few years. We send our sympathies to her family and friends.
Gerald Trostler, 85, lost his battle with cancer on August 23. Jerry's family moved from New York to Los Angeles when he was young and he attended UCLA for his undergraduate and medical degrees. He worked as both a physician at Memorial Medical and as a Clinical Professor of Medicine teaching residents at UC Irvine on the basics of cardiology. Recognized as one of LA's Best Internists, he was featured on CBS' 60 Minutes to discuss difficulties in diagnosing heart attacks! In 2000, he retired to the desert but returned to practicing medicine here from 2005-2022. In his 'spare' time, Jerry loved photography, bridge, LA sports and going out to dinner. He and Dorian (his wife of 61 years and his bridge partner) had three sons & four grandchildren. His dedication and grace to all will not be forgotten by any who knew him!
