Our club has agreed to pool with other clubs, mainly the Louisiana Bridge Association (Metairie Club) and LBC (Memphis club) in order to participate in Virtual Club Games online through Bridge Base Online (BBO). Games are currently being held daily and cost $6 per player with a portion of the proceeds (approx. $3.25) being returned to our club. Games consist of 18 boards and last approximately 2 hours. These are pair games, but you can sign up with a partner or use the partnership desk available for each game.
In order to participate in these games, unless you have included your ACBL number in your BBO profile, you need to send an email to Sherrie Goodman at mail@la-bridge.com providing her with your BBO User Name, along with your name and indicating that you are with BRBC. She will send a list of user names to BBO so that you are authorized to register THE NEXT DAY, for our games which will be listed under ACBL World, Virtual Club Games, specifically LBA/LBC/BRBC.
IF you have not played in competitive BBO games before, Sherrie has provided us with a link to a very good tutorial. If you feel you need additional help, you can contact Sherrie at the same email given in the second paragraph and provide your phone number. She has some of her members who are willing to help you get started if you are having problems, and she will put you in touch with one of them.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A BBO USER NAME, PLEASE SEE BELOW;
To play in the LBA/LBC/BRBC Virtual Games, log on to BBO and click on Competitive, then on ACBL Virtual Clubs , then scroll the list to find out LBA/LBC/BRBC Games. They don’t show up in the list until 2 Hours before the game. You and your partner(s) should complete convention card(s). There are Directors who will be monitoring and available to make rulings.
For our members who aren’t online, Sherrie provided a link to Silvana’s video which is an excellent tutorial, covering how to sign up, complete convention cards,pay entry fees, etc.:
