Background information about the District 23 website, and a passing reference to the Southern California Bridge News.
This website is hosted by Bridgewebs, which is located in England. They provide the the server and a hugh amount of tools for building bridge related web sites. Still, they are considered a budget service. Many of serious marketing tools and analysis programs are missing. We can not get the address of each individual visitor to our website, nor the number of hits on a particular page. This is why they only charge $55.00 a years as opposed to Amazon Web Services or Hypermart which charge $150.00 to $200.00 per year. Under normal circumstances we don't need those tools or programs.
The website recieves average of 200 to 250 'visits' or hits a day. This is total hits on all pages. According to website experts about 25 to 40% of those hits are probably robots or malicious voyeurs.
Around the first of the month, just after I send out the email announcing the new SCBN, we will recieve 900 to 1700 hits. I have to assume these are people downloading SCBN, It's the only reason for them to visit right after the email. During our regional(s), we get 500 to 600 hits per day.
The website has enough storage and capicity so that every club and every unit in the district could have thier own page.
I've tried to put as much information about clubs and units as I can find on this website. But it's hard for me to get accurate infomation when the unit website hasn't been updated in three years.
I will happily post unit and club schedules. Any game in the websites calendar can have the results posted there also.
