Third Communication letter from the ABF presiden, Mr. Bernard Pascal.
Dear Presidents,

Following on my previous two communications, let me first apologize for the delay in writing to you regarding our Zonal event on RealBridge. This is due to the problem we have with our closed accounts at Société Générale in Paris. Both Jean-Claude and I have taken the decision to move ahead and ask you to settle the entry fees as soon as possible on Jean-Claude account and in Euros only. Remember: the deadline was March the 31^st.

So, what are the next “milestones” or “due dates” ?

• By tomorrow, Jean-Claude will communicate his personal IBAN (bank details) to all participating NBOs
• By tomorrow, as well, our CTD, Waleed, will be sending (1) Conditions of Contest & (2) Supplemental Conditions of Contest & (3) On-Line Specific Regulations
• By April 15th , every NBO participating at our Zonal Trials must have settled the entry fees entirely (Jean-Claude will advise the bank details tomorrow)

• By 20th of April, every NBO must have sent the following : (1) player’s full name (2) player’s photo (3) Convention Card for each pair

In addition to the above, Waleed and I will be communicating, shortly, details of the Pairs event. As we did last time, every NBO will be responsible for collecting the entry fees on behalf of the ABF. This time, the Pairs event will be played in a venue chosen by the local NBO under the supervision of the NBO CTD and the cameras. I am sure you will all agree this is much better than playing from home.

Chers Présidents,

Comme suite à mes deux premiers courriers, je commence par m’excuser pour le retard accusé concernant notre « Zonal » sur RealBridge. Ceci est principalement dû au fait que nos comptes sont désormais bloqués à la Société Générale (à Paris). Jean-Claude et moi-même avons donc pris la décision d’avancer (en attendant que ce problème bancaire soit résolu) en vous demandant de bien vouloir régler les droits d’entrée au Zonal, dans les plus brefs délais, sur le compte personnel de Jean-Claude et en Euros. (Pour rappel, le délai avait été fixé au 31 Mars)

Et maintenant, quelles sont les prochaines échéances ?

• D’ici demain, Jean-Claude communiquera son IBAN personnel à tous les NBOs participants au Zonal
• De même, d’ici demain, notre CTD, Waleed, vous communiquera ce qui suit : (1) Conditions of contest (2) Supplemental Conditions of Contest (3) On-Line Specific Regulations
• Au 15 Avril, chaque NBO participant au « Zonal » devra avoir réglé l’entièreté des droits d’engagement (Jean-Claude vous communiquera les coordonnées bancaires demain)
• Au 20 Avril, chaque NBO devra nous avoir envoyé ce qui suit : (1) le nom complet de chaque joueur (2) la photo de chaque joueur (3) la carte de convention de chaque Paire

D’ici quelques jours, Waleed et moi-même pourrons vous communiquer les détails de la compétition par Paires (par laquelle nous commençons). Comme nous l’avons déjà expérimenté, chaque NBO aura la responsabilité de collecter les droits d’entrée pour le compte de la FAB. Cette fois-ci, la compétition par Paires devra obligatoirement être jouée en « présentiel » dans une salle choisie par la Fédération nationale sous la supervision du CTD national et des caméras. Je suis certain que vous serez tous d’accord que c’est bien mieux que de jouer de chez soi.

Following our Management meeting held on 17/10, I am pleased to inform you that we took the following decision regarding entry fees:

One Team : US$1125

Two Teams : US$ 1700

Three Teams : US$2550

Four Teams : US$3000

As for the dates, I remind you what had been decided back in September :

Saturday 20th May : All Africa Pairs – Qualification –

Sunday 21st May : All Africa Pairs – Final A & B –

Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th May : Mixed & Seniors Round Robin

Sunday 28th to Saturday 3rd June : Open and Women Round Robin

I take this opportunity to remind you all that a Player can be part of one Team during the first week and be part of another Team during the second week. This is up to you. Depending on the results, if your NBO is qualified, a player who qualified in two different Teams will have to choose only one of them when he/she travels to Marrakech. If you have any question about this, please do not hesitate to ask.
