Claret Jug
The annual club pairs competition for the Claret Jug normally takes place over two weeks in January/February.  You will need to play with the same partner both weeks to be eligible.  Of course, if you can’t arrange that, you are welcome to come along and play as a normal club session on either evening.   The  Claret Jug is awarded to the top pair who also receive a small sum in prize money from the EWBA.

Olive Hayes Shield
The Olive Hayes Shield is named after a previous member of the club and the competition normally takes place in June or July.  This is a handicap event, so no matter what your standard is, you all have an equal chance of winning this event!   Your handicap is calculated from your previous results during the year and will be published on the website a few weeks before the event.

Winter Teams
The is an online competition which runs through the autumn and winter period on RealBridge.  Teams of four are put together of Abergavenny players and others from Brecon and Crickhowell.  There is normally a small prize for the winning team.

Western League
The EWBA enters teams in the Western League, playing against county teams in the South-West of England.  It takes place on RealBridge , so no travelling required!  Several players from Abergavenny take part.  Contact Richard Welsford for details.
