NEW TO THE GAME - BEGINNER COURSES IN AND AROUND OXFORDSHIRE

To play bridge well there is a lot to learn.  Just as one cannot run until one can walk, it is important to start with a sound grounding in the basic elements of the game and this will take you time to acquire.  Don’t worry - it is worth it!

The information below relates to those clubs affiliated to The Oxfordshire Bridge Association that provide lessons specifically for beginners.

Typically they will run a course of lessons over a period (often through the winter months) and then may follow that up with further courses to extend your knowledge of the game.  Their objective is not only to enable you to play a game of bridge with your friends but also to prepare you for the world of competitive duplicate bridge so enjoyed at bridge clubs by thousands up and down the country. The 20 clubs affiliated to Oxfordshire have a combined membership of over 1500 players.
