Aim is to play 24 Borads in 3 hours
Set the tables out in a clockwise direction.
Normally start with board 1 at table 1
For a Mitchell; pairs will move clockwise and the boards anti-clockwise
For a Howell follow the movements on the Table cards or Instructions on Bridgemates.. Cards will move anti-clockwise.
For all movements Bridgemates will tell you where to move to and which boards to play.
Suggested movements.
Up to 7 tables: a 24 board Howell. See Table cards.
8 Tables: 24 boards Share and Relay; Tables 1 and 8 share, relay between tables 4 and 5. 3 Boards per table.
9 Tables: 27 boards. 8 X 3 board rounds
May do 9 X 3
9 ½ tables: 24 boards. 10 N/S needs to be missing pair. 8 Round Bowman 1 ½ AM Skip after 4 rounds. Tables 1 and 9 share.
10 Tables: 24 boards 8 Round Bowman 1 ½ AM. Skip after 4 rounds. Tables 1 and 9 share and 10 shares with even numbered tables.
So this is how I set it out
3 boards per table
Blue boards for tables 1 to 8
Table 1 has boards 1 to 3
Table 8 has boards 21 to 24
Orange boards for tables 9 and 10
Table 9 plays the boards starting at board 1 to 24
Table 10 plays the boards starting at board 24 to 1
2 sets of boards is much easier than sharing.
Remember to skip after 4 rounds.
If we have 9 ½ tables it is best to have Table 10 NS as the missing Pair.
10 Tables: 30 boards 8 X 3 board rounds and a skip after 5 rounds.
May do 9 X 3
11 Tables: 11 X 2 board rounds
12 plus tables 11 X 2 board rounds or 12 X 2 but this normally becomes a RACE.
If 12 X 2 then best to use 2 sets of boards
** When an even number of tables and more than 8 tables there is a skip **
For 13 plus tables it is possible to run a Web Mitchell, but we need to know in advance so we can prepare 2 sets of boards.
The EBU recommend 8 boards an hour.
24 Boards in 3 hours for 3 board rounds and 22 boards for 2 board rounds.
A minimun of 18 boards must be played.
Score Bridge has many different Movements to try.
