Summary

Due to congestion the car park at the club on or around 7.00pm, bridge club members playing on Tuesdays are asked to:

  • Car share or walk whenever possible
  • Park in the designated area for the bridge club at the bottom end of the car park by the tennis practice wall
  • Park in Bereweek Road or Cheriton Road and walk
  • Park in Kynegils Road and enter through the side gate to the club at the top of the road. The gate should be unlocked but the code is 2017 if you find it locked.  The numbers are in 2 rows of five and you need to press them firmly to complete the process as they can stop half way and the lock won't open. If you find you can't get in please ring reception on 01962 854028 and they will come out and open it.

For those using sat-nav, the postcode for Kynegils Road is SO22 6DF. Until lighting is sorted out, it is recommended you bring a torch if using this entrance.

Parking Instructions

As most of you know from previous communications, evenings have become increasingly busy at the club lately and car parking is a major problem.  The club's Management Committee (MC) has asked Bridge members to alleviate the problem by using a specially allocated parking area by the tennis practice wall at the bottom left of the main car park.

It is crucial that the Bridge section cooperates by MAKING FULL USE OF THIS FACILITY ON BOTH TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS.  We need to show that we are making every effort to free up the rest of the car park by using the special area designated for us.  So, even if there are plenty of spaces in the main car park, PLEASE USE THE DESIGNATED CAR PARK UNTIL IT IS FULL.

There will be cones/tape  in the parking spaces in front of it which you should move to drive in and move back once you have parked. Please drive straight in, parking parallel to the wall in a row across to the right. Once that is full, other bridge members should park behind until the whole area is full.

It has been agreed with Billy (General Manager for the main club) that this area is ONLY for bridge players because we all leave at the same time and no one will be blocked in. If someone is parked so that you can’t get in, please report it to reception.

We all know that it would be impractical for us to start at 7:30pm, although this has been proposed by the MC.  None of us wants that, so we must show that we are doing our utmost to alleviate the parking problem.

Alternatively please consider:

           - parking in Kyneglis Road and walking through the alley (a torch might be useful although the lighting has been improved)

           - car sharing whenever possible

           - walking to the club if you live close by and are fit enough to do so

           - if you play with someone who lives close to the club, arrange to park at their house and walk with them.

         Thank you for your cooperation,

         Bridge Section Chair
