Wilmslow Guild Bridge Club was originally formed for people who had attended Bridge lessons at the Guild and wanted to start playing Duplicate bridge. However, the Club quickly started attracting players from other Bridge backgrounds.
The Club aims to provide relaxed and friendly, but competitive, Duplicate Bridge of a reasonable club standard. Typical attendance is 12 tables each week, and we play an average of 24 boards per session. Jim Morris provides a valuable contribution as the non-playing Director each week. The Club is keen to maintain a good standard of play and etiquette, but equally welcomes and introduces inexperienced players to the Duplicate game. It is not affiliated to the E.B.U. and does not give Master points.
Play is at Chorley Village Hall, close to Wilmslow and Alderley Edge, every Wednesday afternoon excluding the Christmas/New Year period. Play starts at 1.30 pm and finishes around 4.30 pm (except in December and January when play starts/finishes a quarter of an hour earlier). Members are requested to arrive approx. 15 minutes before play starts. A pre-session partnering service is offered - please contact the Secretary. More details are given on the Information Page
New members, guests, and visitors are welcome. Please contact Philip Forshaw, Chairman on 01625 582971 or Pat Fairs, Secretary on 01625 524885 if you would like to come and join, including trial sessions
