Additional Lessons for Beginners

Following the success of his courses in previous years, experienced player and coach John Gooch has kindly offered to give an additional set of lessons for beginners. These will be held every Monday evening, with the first lesson on Monday 3rd October 2016.

This course will follow a slightly different syllabus to the other courses currently held at Wigan Bridge Club but with the common aim of preparing beginners for participation in normal bridge sessions at the club. All those attending will be given hard copies of the course notes.

For more details, phone Wigan Bridge Club on 01942 243612 (answer phone available when the club is closed) or Margaret Wilkinson (Club Secretary) on 01257 423493.

Is this true?
Is this true?

A sample of the Wigan humour.....

There are only two reasons in this club for not leading partners suit. Having a void and instant death.

What is the difference between a long term marriage and a long term bridge partnership?

Its still easier to reason with your marriage partner!!!

And finally.....

In Wigan, Dummy is not allowed to criticise Declarer on the poor play of any hand. There are two other people at the table who will happily undertake this responsibility for you.
