Minutes of the Meeting of West Bridgford Bridge Cub
held on Monday 29 September 2014

Present: Tim Anderson, Shiona Dawson (chair), Ian Dovey, Clive Goode,

1.  Matters Arising From Previous Meeting

A new club contact card has yet to be produced. As well as the list of members and contact details (telephone and E-Mail) it will also include the EBU “Best Behaviour At Bridge” guidelines. Action: ID

2.  Membership

The current membership is 51

3.  Children In Need

We will be participating in the annual “Children In Need” simultaneous pairs on Monday 10th November. All table fees will go to Children in Need. Contributions beyond regular table money will be encouraged but optional.

4.  Attracting and Teaching New Members to Contract Bridge

The issue of attracting new members to Contract Bridge in general, and our club in particular, was discussed in some detail. It was generally felt that it is difficult for us to act in isolation and the opportunity should also be addressed at a county (and country) level. We have two club members who are on the county committee and it was agreed to get this issue on the agenda for the next meeting. Action: TA/ID

5.  Website

Shiona asked if the committee minutes could be grouped together under a single heading easily accessible from the home page. In addition, it would be nice if the competition results could include lists of previous winners.  Action: TA

6.  AOB

One of the red laws books seems to have disappeared. If you have it could you please return it to a committee member.
