There are a few scores missing and there will be lots of errors.
Please check your results and get back to email@example.com asap with any errors.
I am delighted to report that the Club has reached a landmark, over 500 Members! The Committee continues to strive and make playing bridge at WGCBC most enjoyable.
The Pairs League has proved to be extremely popular and we are currently oversubscribed but are looking at ways to increase participation.
With regard to Teams we have scope for an additional one or perhaps two B Flight Teams at a push by way of using the Lobby! Please apply to Srimath Agalawatte. There is a lot more scope for additional C Flight Teams and do give this type of competition a go. If you are able to put together a C Flight Team, then please apply to Gordon Barker.
We are looking for more Pairs on a Monday evening so please come along if you can and remember Visitors are always welcomed.
We do have other new regular sessions/events in the pipeline for you and in particular we have Swiss Pairs/Teams under active consideration. These will be announced once they have been worked up.
Supervised Play continues to prosper, please do give that a try, and with Gentle Duplicate our beginners are progressing to play regularly in our sessions. Please would the more experienced players remember to welcome them.
The new initiatives, not least of which is Bridge Safari, do take an enormity of work to ensure success. We are a Members Club and we need to spread the tasks across the membership rather than just rely on all of the existing ‘faithful’s’. If you have spare time, perhaps have just retired, and would like to get involved in some capacity (not necessarily on the Committee as such), please contact Sheila Gabriel. We do have a lot of fun alongside the hard work.
In closing, look out for and complete the Survey put together by Jo Childs and the team.
Finally, remember the Club operates on the principles of Best Behaviour at Bridge. Please take a look at the leaflet if you have not already done so.
With my best wishes,
...and many more quality prizes in this year's club charity raffle - all in aid of Isabel Hospice.

We now only have a few places left for the Bridge Safari charity event on Tuesday 17th April 2018 10.30am-5pm in aid of Isobel Hospice. The cut-off for this event will be midnight on Thursday 5th April, so book now to avoid disappointment!
Venues are: The Sun (Lemsford), The Long Arm and Short Arm, The Crooked Chimney, Brockett Hall, The Waggoners and The Red Lion. Applications are now live on the website (see link below) or can be picked up at the club. This event is limited to 48 pairs so if you are interested in participating please do not delay! The idea is that entered pairs travel around WGC to the six different venues playing a set number of boards in each venue before heading back to the club house for tea, cake, a raffle and cash prizes for the winners! The entry fee is £25 per player (£50 per pair) to include a two-course lunch at a designated venue during the day. Participants will need transportation and we encourage all pairs to car share where possible. For more details click here. To enter please complete one of the following forms:

The Teams results now have a X-Imps tab.
Bridgewebs provides some very useful features for analysing your performance online, both for Cross Imps in Teams and Matchpoints at Pairs. This facility is completely free, and there is no need to install anything extra. You can replay the hands guided by Double Dummy analysis to see where you went wrong. For Teams events it lists the overall performance of individual pairs in Cross Imps or you can view your Cross Imps on each board. On each hand you may scrutinise how you compared with the other Pairs in MP percentage or Cross Imps.
