Introduction to Classes

Over the last few years successful Bridge classes have been run in Trowbridge and Chippenham. Classes are planned for 2017-2018

Beginners' Classes

Beginner's classes are aimed at those who have not played Bridge before or may have once learned the rudiments of the game but have not played for sometime. The start of the first term in Chippenham begins on the 14th September 2017. Classes run every week on Thursday mornings between 9.30am to 12.45pm for ten weeks with a break for half term.

At each lesson there will be a break for refreshments.

The second half of all lessons involves supervised play of hands designed to illustrate the lesson topic.

Classes are held at the Chippenham Town Bowls Club, Bristol Rd, Chippenham SN14 6LR

However, they are also suitable for people who are in the early stages of the game and wish to improve and learn the latest systems. They run for several weeks in the summer at Chippenham Town Bowls Club. They are held on Thursdays starting at 9.30 a.m. and run for three hours with a break for refreshments.  The second half of the session involves supervised play of hands designed to illustrate the session topic.

Improvers Classes will be run over the Summer of 2018

Summer Workshops

Workshops are held during the summer months on Thursday mornings in Chippenham and will be advertised on the Chippenham Bridge Club web-site

Advanced Classes for Club Players

Advanced Classes are for people who play regularly in Clubs and wish to learn the latest and more sophisticated systems; also to perfect their play.  They run on a monthly basis during the Autumn and Spring terms at Trowbridge Rugby Club.

Bespoke tuition is also available at any time, on any topic, for small or large groups of Bridge players

Corsham Bridge Club - Beginners' Lessons

Corsham Bridge Club - Beginners' Lessons

Following a successful course of Beginners’ Lessons last year, Corsham Bridge Club will be running the course again this year.

The lessons follow the EBU’s “Bridge for All” programme and are delivered by EBTA-trained teachers.  The emphasis of this programme is to have fun playing bridge, so we get people playing from the very first lesson and devote half of each lesson to supervised play.

Although these lessons are intended for absolute beginners, they would also suit those who haven’t played bridge for a while but now wish to get back into the game.

Lessons will be held on Tuesday evenings in Corsham town centre.

First lesson is on 27 September.
