Eight counties play in the Western League – these are Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Avon, Herefordshire, East Wales and ourselves.
Four of the matches are "away" and three "home". They are 40 board teams matches that take place on a Saturday or Sunday, normally starting at 1 p.m.
There are three divisions. Division One is for the top players and Division Two for those who regularly play outside of their clubs. Division Three is for those who are newer to the game or those who have less experience of playing competition bridge. Teams can comprise either 4 or 8 players.
Selection for Division One is made by the Wiltshire Selection Committee (Richard Samter, Pat Davies and Roger Karn). Gayle Webb, who is the Western League organiser, looks after selection for Divisions Two and Three.
Wiltshire members interested in being selected should contact Gayle on email@example.com for further information.
