PAUL HILL ADVANCED LESSONS - DEFENCE AGAINST SUITED AND NT CONTRACTS
"Did you know that around 80% of the time the most experienced members of this club make active rather than passive leads in uncontested auctions? Renowned authors Larry Cohen, Eddie Kantar, and Barbara Seagram all maintain that the balance between active and passive defence in these auctions should be closer to 50-50.
Do you know the difference between the two and when to use each? Did you know that you should consider different strategies when defending against part-score contracts and games?
Sometimes the defensive strategy is easy: leading the queen from the QJT9 or partner's suit (if they have bid one). These seminars will primarily ignore them and focus on the more difficult lead dilemmas: for example, when to lead fourth best from Q642 and when to lead a doubleton.
The seminars are based on extensive research and will be presented in a workshop format. I promise that all players, experienced and improved, will learn something from them
