Teams Competition 2016

Rules

 

1      To qualify to enter the competition, a Team must consist of four/five members of Wantage Bridge Club.   Each Team must be registered with the Club Secretary by the start of the first Team Event of the year in February 2016.   A “Captain” is to be nominated so that results can be forwarded after each Team Event.  Each Team is to be encouraged to remain together for the year.

2      There will be six Team Events during the year.  To qualify a Team must take part in at least four with the best FOUR scores to count.   In the event of a tie, the fifth best score will count as a tie-breaker.

3      For each event, a qualifying team will receive the number of points based on its ranking in that event. For each event, a maximum of twelve points will be available to the winning Team, with eleven to the Team in second place, and so on.  The maximum number of points will be the same, no matter how many Teams take part.

4      A Team may field TWO substitutes in any event and still gain the number of points as described above.  This will ONLY be allowed on TWO occasions during the year.  Substitutes MUST be Members of Wantage Bridge Club.

5      If two players from a team combine with two players from another team in any event, both teams will gain 50% of the number of points described above.

6      Remember, this is a FUN competition with a cup awarded at the end of the year to the Team with the most number of points.  Any queries will be looked into, and if required, passed to the Committee for a decision.

7      The updated results will appear on the website as soon as possible after each Team Night.
