Two good results for members at Brighton this year.

Anne Catchpole with teammates won the midweek Seniors Swiss Teams by a very impressive margin.

Tony Veran and partner won the Stratified Swiss Pairs on the second Saturday of the event.

Well done to both members.

Many Congratulations to David Sherman, Winner of this competition. Well done also to Alan Coral, second, and Colin Elliott, third.

Following the Committee Meeting the following two decisions were made:

• Club moneys in the saving account would be reduced. These currently stand at approximately £5000. It was agreed the reserves would be reduced to around 6 months of the club's running costs- currently this would be in the region of £2000

• Notwithstanding the decision to reduce the club's savings the substantial increase in hire fees over the last 12 months means it will be necessary to increase session fees. From 1st August 2013 these will rise to £3 for members and £4 for non members.

In addition to these two decisions the Committee confirmed that the timer would be used on both Mondays and Thursdays to help ensure sessions finish prior to 22.00.
