Loyalist Sectional Tournament

The Saint John Loyalist Sectional bridge tournament will be held August 18 through 20 at the Trade and Convention Centre, Market Square Saint John.

A Sectional Tournament is an ACBL tournament that awards silver points. Valley Duplicate has cancelled their game for August 18 so that everyone (if they wish to) can participate in this tournament.

Events planned for this year's tournament

Friday August 18 1:30 PM Stratified Open Pairs - this is similar to our club games in which everyone competes together. Silver points are awarded to top placements for N/S and E/W in each section, plus there are Overall awards for A (over 1000 mps), B (300-1000 mps), and C (0 - 300 mps).

Friday 7:00 PM Stratified Open Pairs - this is similar to our club games in which everyone competes together. Silver points are awarded to top placements for N/S and E/W in each section, plus there are Overall awards for A (over 1000 mps), B (300-1000 mps), and C (0 - 300 mps).

Saturday Aug 19 1:00 pm Stratiflighted Open Pairs (1st session).
Saturday, Aug 19 7:00 pm Stratiflighted Open Pairs (2nd session).

Players are divided into two groups depending on their masterpoint holdings: A/AX (1000 points and over) and BCD (less than 1000 masterpoints average for the pair). Each group plays amongst themselves. (Note that someone with less than 1000 points can play in A/AX but someone with more than 1000 can't play in BCD). Points are awarded for placements for N/S and E/W in each section, plus there are Overall awards for strats A (unlimited), AX (0 to 1750 points), B (300-1000 points), C (100-300 points), and D (0-100 points). Strat is determined by pair average. The results for the afternoon and evening sessions are combined to obtain the overall winners. Note that you need to play in both sessions to be eligible for an Overall award.

Saturday night - Hospitality Suite!
