Joan Ryan will be offering a series of four classes to start Wednesday, October 26th on the 2 over 1 system.  For this series of lessons, you need to commit to the four lessons and should have a partner for the series.  If you don't have a partner, we will try to match you up with someone.  No individual lessons will be offered. The cost is $40 per person for the series which includes all class materials. The classes will run from October 26th to November 16th (ending the week before Thanksgiving).   The classes will be held at Streams of the Desert Lutheran Church from 2 to 4 PM and each class will include both an instructional presentation and hands to play and discuss. Class size is limited to a maximum of 20 students (10 partnerships).

Advanced Beginner Bridge is the natural follow on to the Beginner Bridge classes held last year at the Jewish Community Center.  Aimed at players who understand the basics of bridge bidding and play, the Advanced Beginner Bridge course will take your game to the next level.  In six 2-hour classes, we will cover Opener’s bidding strategy, Stayman, strong 2 club openings, slam bidding, pre-empts, and more.  Players will reinforce their playings skills with sample hands based on these topics.  Students had a great time with Beginner Bridge last year.  This year’s course will be even more fun!  Howard Seigerman, who is a member of our Club, is the instructor again this year.  For more information, please hit contact us on the home page.

This game is designed for players who are just starting to compete in duplicate games and enjoy a slower pace and competition with players at their level.  We only play 12 boards and after each board, our director/instructor, Mike Smith, discusses what you should have bid and what you could have made.  It is a beautiful combination of playing and learning.
