30th Anniversary 'Champagne' Pairs
Members past and present came together on Tuesday 13th September and raised their glasses to celebrate 30 years of Towcester Bridge Club. Fortified by a delicious cake (our thanks to Hilary Wright who made and kindly donated the cake...Bake Off beckons!), partners were drawn for a hotly contested Chicago competition with a few 'suprise' penalties! Congratulations to the winners John Bateman & Gerard Lawlor E/W with a score of 410 points, and Jim Shoesmith & Kathleen Flower N/S with 2070 points!. More pictures and a copy of the History of the Club written by Di Harris can be found by clicking on the relevant tab on the left hand menu.
General Information
Towcester Bridge Club meets weekly on Tuesdays at Towcester Conservative Club for friendly Duplicate Bridge, start time 7:30 pm. (Please be seated by 7:25 pm)
Teams of 4 are played once a month, usually on the first Tuesday, with Pairs competitions on the remaining Tuesdays.
All levels of players are represented at the club from beginners to County standard. Experienced players are encouraged to help new members to improve their bidding, play, and understanding of the rules. The club welcomes all standards and is a great way for keen Rubber Bridge players to get introduced to Duplicate Bridge.
