We will all miss Lyn and wish her all the bast.

Charity Day

Our local charity this year is The Yacaaba Centre.  We raised $500 which the club matched so the centre received $1,000 - an amount much needed by such a good local charity. THank you all for your donations.

President's Corner

Well done to the 9 teams that played in the Port Teams event. It was  a fun, relaxed day. This is an annual red point teams day particpated in by the 3 Port Bridge Clubs - Tomaree, Tilligerry and Hawkes Nest. The event was hosted by Hawkes Nest this year and they did an excellent job and showed off their beautiful new clubhouse.  Six of our teams finished in the top half and the other 3 weren't far behind. All the teams took home lots of red points. It's our turn to host it next year so we are looking forward to an even bigger event.

Beating your ranking by 10 places at a congress is very hard to do but two pairs from our club managed to do it over the weekend.  Kay and Bruce Baguley were in the 5th placed team at the Toronto Teams Congress and Peta and Kerry Grice came 8th in the Tamworth Pairs Congress. An excellent effort by both pairs but particularly the Grice pair as they beat many Life Masters and 1 of them is still eligible for Novice events. Congratulations to the 4 of you.

Our Encouragement Day was a huge success and reports are everyone had a great time. Experienced players were randomly paired with newer players and played a regular session. Congratulations to the new players who gained their first ever points. A huge thank you to the 25 experienced players who volunteered and reports are they enjoyed it as much as the new players. The next one will be Sunday 25 November. Put it in your diary.

Congratulations to the winners of the President's Trophy. N/S Daphne & Brian Hodges and E/W Kay Davis & Bud Huettig. Well done.
