New to Bridge - Would like to learn?

Bognor Regis Bridge Club – Beginners Course

The course is based on the English Bridge Union (EBU) text Beginning Bridge. It is aimed at complete beginners, not improvers or those refreshing previous experience. The objective is to prepare students to start the gentle bridge sessions at Bognor club upon completion of the course.

There are no entry requirements, though it would be useful if students can use a computer for emails, accessing websites etc.

It is 30 weeks long, comprising 5x6 week half terms:

12th September – 17th October 2023

31st October – 5th December   2023

2nd January – 6th February 2024

20th February – 26th March 2024

16th April – 21st May 2024

Tuition will take place on Tuesday nights from 7pm to 10pm, with, optional, supervised practice play 7pm to 9pm on Thursday nights. The supervised play will involve the students in hands designed to reinforce theory/concepts from the Tuesday night. Not all students feel the need to attend the Thursday sessions.

The teacher is an EBU qualified and registered bridge teacher.

Costs are £48.00 per half term for tuition – all students, payable each half term. A small fee will also apply for supervised play, payable on the night.

Please call our secretary Lesley Simmons on 07900 077454 for further details.

Once you have mastered the basics you can put you knowledge into practice at the Club’s Monday afternoon beginners duplicate session. These sessions are open to non-members and might be of interest to those who have played a little bridge and would like to try duplicate. When your game is up to speed the club’s Thursday evening gentle bridge session prepares you for the regular club sessions held throughout the week. For more information again please contact Lesley Simmons on 07900 077454.
