| WIP Electronic Honours Boards |
 |
You may have noticed since the Club refurbishment that most of the honours boards have disappeared.
The committee have decided to go hi-tech and have electronic honours boards and are discussing the best way of providing this along with a big screen for enhanced results service.
In the meantime the information from various honours board sources is in the process of being collated ready for display.
As a sneak preview an example of Single-winner (Duval), Pair (Revill) and Teams (Joyce Hare) can be found via the left hand menu under the Electronic Honours Board heading.
At the moment not all years have been added but eventually all competitions will be available here with any information on winners that can be found from yesteryear.

No successes to report in 2012 yet but you can click here to see the proposed format.

| New Competition Announcement |
A brand new competition has been agreed by your committee for players having less than 10,000 EBU Master Points in the EBU Ranking List at the end of 2011.
All you have to do is accumulate as many Master Points as you can by playing in ANY Club afternoon or evening event from Monday to Friday from January to June 2012 inclusive and you can play with any partner(s).
There will be a prize for the top three in the ranking list as well as any session prize money that you may win.
We have not named this competition yet but any suggestions would be welcome.

| Book Table Accepting New Items |
The Book Table has been Spring Cleaned so there is now some space for new titles that you no longer want and can share with other members.
Funds raised go towards helping to buy new equipment (see below) and Special Projects within the Club, as Tesco would say "every little helps".
Books that have remained on the Book Table for c> three months are recycled to local Charity Shops so everyone is a winner.

| Duplimate Boards Soon in Action - Tuesday 17th January |
 |
The Club has taken advantage of the recent EBU Club Focus Offer and has purchased three sets of 32 Dulplimate Boards.
Look out for Slime Green, Banana Yellow and Powder Puff Blue as they are introduced into playing sessions during January.
If you play in County or EBU events you will be familiar with the Duplimate label format showing Direction, Dealer and Vulnerability but as a sneak preview please click here for a sample of 1-16 (17-32 repeat with just numbers being different).
We will also be Spring cleaning the cards as they are getting a bit grubby in some sets and we have ordered nearly 450 packs to be able to achieve this replacement also during January.

| Please arrive at least 10 minutes before start time |
The TDs have requested via the committee that players should make every effort to now arrive at the Club at least 10 minutes before the advertised start time
The reason is that as we are using BridgePads for nearly all sessions it is difficult to reset everything to ensure a prompt start if players are arriving at the last minute. This is particularly so on busy nights such as Monday and Thursday when adequate time should be allowed by players for car parking.
Complaints have also been received about late evening finishes and incomplete hence unfair movements which a prompt start would somewhat alleviate.
The club's mobile telephone number 07749 410 362 is always switched on about half an hour before play is due to start if you want to notify late arrival.
Players who arrive after the movement has started without prior notification may not get a game!!!
