| Book Table Contributes To New Cards And Bidding Boxes |
 |
The book table has undergone a major culling of old items to local charity shops.
We are therefore seeking new stock, so if you have any items on your bookshelves gathering dust, did you know that you can donate your no longer wanted books to a good cause.
Funds raised by the recycling book table help towards buying new equipment for the Club. Your committee in April sanctioned purchase of replacement cards and bidding boxes but every little helps towards this cost!
Books are eventually recycled to local Charity Shops so no donation is wasted.
If you are an avid reader you may be lucky enough to pick up a bestseller for a mere 50p.

| Restated Committee Directive: Please arrive at least 10 minutes before start time |
 |
The committee have noticed that a small group of people are consistently ignoring our request that players should make every effort to arrive in the Club Room at least 10 minutes before the advertised start time.
As BridgeMates are in use for nearly all sessions it is time consuming and tiresome to reset everything to ensure a prompt start if players are arriving late. This is particularly so for Monday and Friday Swiss Pairs events and on busy nights such as Monday and Thursday when adequate time should be allowed by players for parking now that we are into the main Rugby season.
Complaints are made about late finishes and incomplete unfair movements which a prompt start would alleviate.
The club's mobile telephone number 07749 410 362 is always switched on about half an hour before play is due to start if you want to notify late arrival.
Pairs who arrive after the movement has been set up without prior notification will now not get a game!!!

|
We have two large well-lit playing areas, one of which is equipped for teaching, the rooms both enjoy views across playing fields.
We have a bar, kitchen and plenty of parking spaces.
Pre-dealt boards with available hand records are used for all main bridge sessions along with PairsScorer, BridgeMates and BridgeWebs technology enabling a fast end of session results service.
