Stourbridge Bridge Club and Stourbridge Institute Bridge Section are part of Stourbridge Institute and Social Club.(SISC) Regular participants in any club operating within the Institute must be full or associate members of the Institute.
All property and assets used by such clubs are owned by the Institute. The clubs concerned have custody but no ownership of assets. For bridge clubs, the control of property and equipment is administered by a sub committee of the Institute Council (Stourbridge Bridge Association) who are also responsible for the conduct of Institute members during bridge sessions.
The Institute also has a Snooker Section (9 tables) which has several teams playing in local leagues; a Chess Club which meets on Wednesday evenings, playing in several local leagues; a Badminton Club playing in the Worcestershire League ,a Table Tennis room.and a Bingo club which meets on Tuesday evenings. A restaurant serves good quality "home cooked" lunches from Tuesday to Saturday. The well stocked bar provides a range of beers (including a guest cask ale), wines,spirits, soft drinks,tea and coffee. Snacks are usually available. Use of the car park is available to members on payment of a fee which includes the purchase of vouchers redeemable in the club. Rooms may be hired for private functions with food/drink if required.
The nominated ("life") partner of a member can enjoy all the privileges of membership - except the right to vote at General Meetings - for no additional fee. The members of a partnership therefore enjoy half price membership.
