| Letter received from Terry & Rita Sweeney |
Some of you might know that Terry & Rita Sweeney have moved to be nearer their daughter. There was a small presentation to speed them on their way as they have been members of the club for over 30 years. The following letter was received from them.
To all members of St Leonards Bridge club. Thank you for your generous and kind leaving present. We were both surprised and overwhelmed. So much so that I was unable to respond adequatly to Mike's very kind words, and you all know how unusual it is for me to be lost for words.
Both card and glasses will be on display in our new home. We have enjoyed over 30 years at the bridge club and will keep in touch from afar.
We wish you all many years of enjoyable bridge and will return on occasion. Regards from Rita & Terry Sweeney

The club has received three letters relating to the 50th anniversary party held on 21st July. The first one is from Pat Burton she says:-
'Thanks to Kathy and Eddie who invited me to the 50th Anniversary party. I had a really enjoyable time meeting up with all my old friends. I was sorry to leave early but my son had been umpiring all day and it was a long way back to where I was staying. Best wishes Pat Burton'
The second letter is from Sally and her husband James from the EBU. They said they would like to thank Eddie for organising the 50th anniversary celebrations and they were honoured and delighted to be invited. They also said this will encourage new members into the club who may in turn organise the 100th party!
The third letter is from Amber Rudd MP for Hastings and she sends her sincere congratulations on the club's 50th anniversary. She goes on to say the game of bridge is a great stimulus for the brain, helping people to improve their reasoning skills and memory.
