The Suffolk Contract Bridge Association has agreed to add a minimum of £200 to the money raised by Stansfield - and it could be more.
The county is prepared to set aside £200 per club, up to a maximum of £800 for match funding, in the hope that other clubs may wish to follow Stansfield's example.

Stansfield will host four qualifying heats for the World Wide Bridge Contest over the next couple of months.
Joan & Keith famously qualified for the all-expenses paid trip to contest the final in China in 2016 and a pair from Clare emulated that feat 12 months ago.
The qualifiers will be on Tuesday 27 March, Thursday 29 March, Tuesday 24 April and Thursday 26 April. The entry fee is £1.50p (in addition to normal table money).
Bridge for Fun, which raises money for St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds is taking place at Risbygate Sports Club on Friday 9 March (2pm start) - with a terrific tea promised and bridge to suit all tastes..

You could be forgiven for thinking, particularly post-Referendum, that a bridge club in a small village would be immune from the worst ravages of European-wide bureaucratic red tape...
Well, think again.
On 25 May the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect and it is going to be a nightmare for bridge clubs, large or small, and virtually every voluntary organisation up and down the land.

Following the success of the inaugural Stansfield Handicap Pairs last year, the club's committee has decided to repeat the event in 2018 and 2019.
The competition is open to players from other clubs and aims to give everyone an equal chance of success by allocating a handicap to each player, based on their NGS record with the EBU.
The Handicap pairs will take place on Sunday 21 October 2018 and Sunday 27 October 2019 - 11am start.
The Suffolk Contract Bridge Association organises and runs lots of events every year for a wide range of players - including you.
