The first Teams Match against Clare Bridge Club since the pandemic was held on 27th March , two teams of 4 from each club competed.
We are delighted to say Stansfield won by 68 IMPs, all down to team Pauline, Jo, Keith & Joan who ended the evening with +85 IMPs. Team Jackie, Susan, Marcus & Chris ended up with – 17 IMPs.
Thanks to Jackie who directed the event , she commented "It was a fun evening in a very relaxed atmosphere and having not directed at a team’s event since before the pandemic I was very pleased it all went smoothly……. Phew!!"
Hopefully this is the first of many re-matches with our friends at Clare. Thank you to all who took part.

BELL TROPHY SUNDAY 28th APRIL |
The Bell Trophy is the unofficial club championship and takes place on Sunday 28th April 1.45pm for 2.00pm at the Village Hall
In addition to the main prize - a bell that was used many years ago to signify the end of a round - there will be a Handicap prize in which every pair has an equal chance of success. The event is for club members only. To enter please click on BELL Entry fee is £5 per person. Players will be invoiced at the end of April,
Coffee and tea will be available on the day and the barman has promised to open the bar. However, please bring your own tea to eat during the half time break.

GERRY and EMILY's BRIDGE LUNCH 15th May 12.30pm |
Once again Gerry and his daughter Emily are preparing a delicious lunch for Stansfield Bridge Club Members at the Village Hall on Wednesday 15th May. Lunch will be followed by an afternoon of bridge. Cost is just £17 per person

CLARE BRIDGE CLUB SWISS PAIRS 5th MAY |
The 26th Clare Bridge Club Swiss Pairs
will be held on Sunday 5th May at 10:45 for 11am,
at Lavenham Village Hall.
This is a blue pointed event and will be directed by Rob Richardson.
The cost is £17.50 per player, and includes a delicious sandwich lunch.

CLUB TEAMS OF 8 RUNNERS UP |

Stansfield upheld its good record in the Suffolk Club Teams of 8 at Colchester on Saturday when it finished runners-up for the third time.
Woodbridge won for the second year running and thereby earned the right to represent the county in the national 2024 EBU Garden Cities final. To see all the results click on EIGHT

A POPULAR CLUB IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE… |
STANSFIELD bridge club was formed in 2007 and is situated in the heart of Suffolk countryside between Clare and Bury St Edmunds. It currently has a membership of about 170 and is affiliated to the EBU.
The club runs sessions play Face to Face on Thursday evenings (visitors welcome) at 7pm, and runs F2F sessions for Improvers on Wednesday afternoons (2pm)
