| Invalids - Best Wishes ! |
We have just heard that Barbara Cooke had a fall last week and is recovering from a broken hip.
Meg Lock visited her and reports that, as we would expect, she is very chirpy and keen to get back home. Everyone at the Club sends their love and wishes her a quick and full recovery.
We look forward to seeing her back on Wednesdays.
Also Tony Aspras has just had a second knee replacement. We gather that there have been a few scares but it is hoped that he on the mend and that he'll soon be back.

| Handicapped scoring on Tuesdays |
As from the start of September Tuesday sessions will be scored in two ways
- Scratch scoring as at present with Master Points
- Handicapped scoring enabling all players a chance of winning
The handicaps (plus or minus) used are displayed on the notice board and will be applied to the percentage scored.
It is planned to award a prize at the end of the year to the best performing pair.
It is hoped that this will encourage more club members to play on Tuesdays.
Both results are shown on the Web site - click Ranking / Handicap on top line.
The first winners were Beryl and Michael Metcalf who also won the Scratch section - well done.

| Prize Money & Master Points |

Prize Money : Having heard the views of many members the committee decided to reinstate prize money for the Monday, Wednesday and Friday sessions.These will be paid in the form of vouchers which allow a member to play free for a future session. This will be easier for directors to administer. The vouchers will be available in 2/3 weeks but will be back dated to w/c 14th July.
Note : Prizes will only be awarded if there are a minimum of 5 tables (this has been Club policy for many years).
Master Points : The committee confirmed the policy only to award EBU Master Points on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Table Money : Effective 1stJune table money to be £2.50 members and £3.50 for non-members, which now includes free tea, coffee and squash. Also a discount scheme for members playing four or five times in any one week. If a member plays four times in a week total payment will be £9.00 and for five times total paid will be £10.00 (ie the 4thsession will be only £1.50 and the 5thsession would be free).
