DAY LONG TOURNAMENTS ON BBO

The Acol Daylong Tournament on BBO. It's an 8-board game with robots that don't use the GIB 2/1 system, but instead play a simple and friendly version of Acol. So, if you've been putting off playing against the robots because you're not comfortable with the 2/1 system, then this is for you.

You can play whenever's convenient, at your own pace and you don’t need a partner as you're playing with and against advanced robots. Everything is alerted and explained. Click the bids to see what they mean before making a move.

With Daylongs you can take your time and have a break if needed, as long as you finish your boards by midnight GMT.

Club Championship Rules
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION RULES

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION  2019-20

The Club Championship consists of a Teams and a Pairs event, both events having Open and Restricted Tiers.

A player who represents one club in one of these events may not play for another club in the other event.

There is no limit on the number of teams and pairs which a club may enter in both Open and Restricted Tiers.

In the Restricted Tier all players must have an EBU rank less than National Master on 1stJuly 2019.

Also players who have played in the ‘A’ divisions of the County League or Pairs League for at least two seasons must not  be selected for this tier.

Points are awarded as shown below and the club gaining the most points will be the 2019-20 Club Champions.

OPEN TIERS

Team points and Pairs place points: 1st10,      2nd6,     3rd3 All other pairs 1pt.

(A club can only gain points for their best performing team or pair, but if teams/pairs from the same club took more than one of the first three places it would prevent those place points being awarded to another club e.g. If Pairs of club X took first two places and a Pair of club Y were 3rd, club X is awarded 10 points and team Y 3 points).

RESTRICTED TIERS

Team points and Pairs place points: 1st10,      2nd6,     3rd3 All other teams 1pt.

(A club can only gain points for their best performing team or pair, but if teams/pairs from the same club took more than one of the first three places it would prevent those place points being awarded to another club).

ENTRY

Clubs may enter as many pairs/teams in each category as they wish. It is expected that clubs will pay the entry fee of £4 per player in the form of a cheque payable to ‘SCBA’ presented on the day of the event. In addition the usual table money will be payable.
