DAY LONG TOURNAMENTS ON BBO

The Acol Daylong Tournament on BBO. It's an 8-board game with robots that don't use the GIB 2/1 system, but instead play a simple and friendly version of Acol. So, if you've been putting off playing against the robots because you're not comfortable with the 2/1 system, then this is for you.

You can play whenever's convenient, at your own pace and you don’t need a partner as you're playing with and against advanced robots. Everything is alerted and explained. Click the bids to see what they mean before making a move.

With Daylongs you can take your time and have a break if needed, as long as you finish your boards by midnight GMT.

  County Charities

Each year one or more bridge events are organized and promoted by the SCBA Committee in support of a charity. This year’s nominated charity is Young Somerset.

The Michael Coda Cup is the County’s principal fund raising event. It is a simultaneous pairs’ competition open to affiliated and non-affiliated clubs within the SCBA’s geographical area. It will be held on each day during a week of February. All of the entry fees and donations less costs, incurred by the SCBA, are passed on to the nominated charity.

The result on each board at a participating club will be compared with the result for all other pairs from all of the participating clubs to obtain an overall result. Nearly all the organisation required for a club to participate will be taken care of by the SCBA Committee. Your club secretary will be contacted about the event, but it would help if you could lobby your own club’s committee to hold a heat of this event.
