The Resumption of Face to Face

With lockdown is over we are getting back to normal.

Safely.
And following best advice.

Face Masks / Visor

What follows is the original policy.
Over time it has been relaxed as more players have become comfortable with the situation.
From September it is no longer compulsory to wear a face covering when away from the table.
The original policy may be reinstated if necessary.

The government is asking the public to use common sense as things return to normal.

Common sense tells us that we ought to wear a face mask / visor in an enclosed space (unless exempt) - this is more to protect others than ourselves.

The revised pollicy (updated 23rd July 2021) is that face coverings be worn:

when you arrive and depart
when moving around for toilet / tea breaks etc
and if asked to by someone seated at a table (common courtesy)

To avoid any possible awkward situation please wear yours so that it covers both you nose and mouth.

I am removing the requirement to wear them when sitting at the table
Of course, there is no requirement to wear one if you are exempt

I will have a limited number of visors for sale at £1.00 each - first come/first served.

smiley

Setting Up

I along with other volunteers will set up the bridge room.

The Play

We'll play a Mitchell movement as we always do.

North will enter the score as always and, once the opponents have checked to entry,
North will press the accept button.

Only North need touch the scoring tablet.

Tables & Chairs

Tables

The tables belong to the club and most are locked away between sessions.
They should not used by others.
We have one set of tables at each venue.

Chairs

Most of the chairs belong to the hall (a few belong to Slams Bridge Club).
We have no control over who any of uses them.

Possible Contamination

We have no control over other hall users.

On the Tables

Tablecloths, Bidding Boxes, Boards

Whilst we have two sessions of bridge each week we do have multiple sets of this equipment:
This duplication means that none is used more than once a week.

Scoring Tablets..

We have more scoring tablets than are needed for each session, but not enough for two without reusing some.
For this reason I will sanitise them betweens sessions

Possible Contamination

Equipment will be touched by many players within a session.
Contamination between sessions should not be possible.
