I am often asked questions about the rules of our game and I use the "Duplicate Bridge Rules Simplified (2008)" to find the answers (the Yellow Book).  This book is used at many clubs and copies can be obtained from Mr Bridge.

A lot of the questions come up quite regularly, so I have decided to put some of the rules on the website.

Slams is a friendly, entry-level club to the game of bridge and I prefer to use common sense rather than strictly adhere to the rules.  But the rules are there to help us all, so they will be used when necessary.

It is also important that when there is an irregularity at the table you call the Director.  That's what he's there for.  The Director should know the rules better than anyone, and he does have the rules book to refer to.

Be warned:  This Director has now completed his basic training - so you had all better start to behave at the bridge table
