Skerries Bridge Club was founded in the 1940's, unfortunately records have been lost so we do not have exact dates, however, we have The Red Island Cup which was presented in 1948 by the owner of Red Island Holiday Camp Mr Eamonn Quinn, Fergal Quinn's father.

Open to Non Members during Summer Months. Visitors are welcome to play with a Member during the year except when special competitions are on.

2017 New Grading System

New Grading System - Applies from Sept 2017

N1 will be up to 1999 Local Points. B2 2000 to 4999 Local Points. B1 5000 to 9999 Local Points. A2 10000 to 24999 Local Points. A1 25000 to less than 10 National Points.

Cards will be issued in September using the "old grading system". When you get your card you may apply to be regraded using the new system if you wish. This must be done through your Club Secretary who will pass on the request to the Regional SecretaryIf you get a B2 card and hold less than 2000 local points you may apply to be regraded to N1 (provided it is less than 5 years since you took your first lesson). If you get a B1 card and hold less than 1 National Point (5000 Local Points) you may apply to be regraded to B2. If you get an A2 card and hold less than 2 National Points (10000 Local Points) you may apply to be regraded to B1. If you get an A1 card and hold less than 5 National Points (25000 Local Points) you may apply to be regraded to A2. If you get a Regional Master card and hold less than 40 National Points you may apply to be regraded to Area Master. All these gradings are optional - if you don't apply they will not happen.

The option to be regraded will expire on December 31 2017

The region was well represented at the Fun Teams in Westmanstown both in bridge and fancy dress!

The three Skerries Bridge Clubs (Skerries,John Lane & Holmpatrick) would like to thank all who helped and took part in this Charity event in memory of John Keane and the raising of €4500.00 for the local RNLI. Presentation took place at the Sailing Club in Skerries on August 25 with the presentation being made to the RNLI by John's wife  Bernadette.
