Welcome to Silhill Bridge Club

Silhill Bridge Club (Affiliated to WCBA & the EBU)

A friendly Bridge Club with both duplicate and rubber sessions held at St. Helen's Church Centre, St. Helen's Road, Solihull, B91 2DA.

The duplicate sessions are held on Monday and Thursday evenings starting at 7 p.m., promptly. We aim to have people seated at tables by 6:50 p.m. in order for the Tournament Director to be able to determine the movement to be used. We can normally supply a partner for visitors, through our host system, but, club members have priority, so it is advisable to contact us in advance, if you wish to turn up without a partner.

The rubber sessions are held on Wednesday afternoons between 13:30 & 17:00.

On the 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesdays - Cut-in

2nd & 4th Wednesdays - Partnerships

Founded in 1948 Regardless of what sadistic impulses we may harbour, winning bridge means helping partner avoid mistakes.

President's Dinner

A very enjoyable President's Dinner was held at Olton Golf Club on Monday 2nd April.
Our thanks go out to our President, Mike Whitfield for his efforts to ensure that all the participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves and for his work on behalf of the club throughout the year.
The individual bridge event held at the dinner was won by Barry Hudson with Norah Holbech second and Judy Gray third.

Rubber Bridge Trophies

The Club trophy list for 2011/12 was completed on 28th March when Betty Scott & Peter Spittle just 'pipped' Rex Smith & John Adams in the knockout final of the Winckle Trophy. At the same time, John Adams managed to hang on to retain the Percy Thomas Trophy. Congratulations to the winners.
