At the AGM, we had a good discussion about how to comply with the Best Behaviour At Bridge Guidelines (BB@B). This is just a reminder of the main points in Keith's summary of what we expect of players at our club:
(a) We will point out instances of bad behaviour, with an immediate apology normally being enough to resolve any issues;
(b) We will call the Director for BB@B issues that cannot be resolved at the table, as well as for all technical issues, even if we think we know the rules;
(c) We will try to minimise tension at the table by remaining calm and polite at all times, especially when calling the Director and accepting the Director’s judgement;
(d) We will support the committee in invoking any disciplinary procedures in line with the constitution and/or EBU guidelines; and
(e) Players who are deemed to be persistent offenders will not be welcome to play at this club.
While the ladies were considered to be models of good behaviour, even the most competitive men should be able to comply with the guidelines, and to enjoy the company as well as the game! Click here for the detailed guidelines issued before the AGM.
We meet every Tuesday at 6:45 for 7:00pm
