Seaford Bridge Club Rules and Etiquette

 Rules

  1. For irregularities or disputes arising in Duplicate sessions, the Director should be called immediately, and their ruling shall be final. No offence should be taken over the calling of Director.
  2. Members are particularly requested to refrain from uninvited criticism of either partner or opponents.
  3. For the benefit of all, members are asked to refrain at all times from any action,  e.g. talking loudly, which could cause disturbance to others.
  4. Members should avoid any specific verbal statement about the contract that has been played and the result.
  5. Members are requested to dress appropriately and to avoid forms of dress which might not be acceptable to other members.

At the end of a session, members should ensure (with due regard to any members who may still be playing) that:

  • table covers and bidding boxes are returned to store
  • chairs are stacked
  • tables and cushions are replaced as necessary.

We all know it's very easy to get carried away with excitement over a good hand played or frustrated over a bad hand.....
With this in mind we remind all members and guests of the following to ensure a happy session for all:

Etiquette

Please remember to:

♠ greet others in a friendly manner prior to start of play on each round.
♥ be a good ‘host’ or ‘guest’ at the table.
♦ make bridge enjoyable for yourself, partner and opponents.
♣ give credit when opponents make a good bid or play.
