AGM
At the AGM on Tuesday 12th April our Chairman, Clive Sweeting, resigned. He had done the job for many years, and was now approaching the birthday which his predecessor, Les Bond, had attained when he handed over to Clive.
The members were unanimous in their praise of Clive and their thanks for the responsibilities which he had undertaken on their behalf over the years.
The new Chaiman (or is it Chair, or Chairwoman?) is Margaret Borrill. Margaret has been a member of the Club since the beginning, so has a great deal of experience in what is required to run a club such as ours.
At the AGM it was reported by the Treasurer that the Village Hall fees had increased by some £2 per hour. On current numbers this would have put us into a loss situation next year. Whilst we have sufficient funds to sustain the losses for many years it was decided by the members that we should increase the annual membership fees to £5 with immediate effect.
