The Buchanan offers classes at five levels - Beginners, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Refreshers and Advanced. Classes run on Thursday evenings and last about three hours. The course year starts on 1st September 2016. Course notes are supplied. Click here for full information.

First year lessons for complete beginners will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 and will start on 4th October 2016. This course will comprise of 20 lessons (10 each side of the Festive season) and no prior knowledge is required. Lessons will be taught by Joyce Benson.
Second year lessons will be held on Thursday afternoons from 2 to 5pm and will start on 1st September 2016. This course will comprise of 20 lessons and is for those who have already completed lessons 1-20 or for those who have been playing Bridge informally for some time and who wish to approach the game in a more structured manner. Lessons will be taught by Cathy Ferguson.
Third year lessons will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 and will start 5th October 2016. This course will comprise of 20 lessons (10 each side of the Festive season) and is for those who have already completed lessons 1-40 or for regular club players who wish to improve their technique. Lessons will be taught by Steve Bailey.

St Andrew Bridge Club

St. Andrew run two classes from complete beginner to those more experienced who wish to play better bridge. They are hosted at the club on Monday and Wednesday evenings in a convivial atmosphere but where learning will take place.
The aim of the beginners course is to have the student playing as soon as possible. This will be achieved following the lesson plans of the SBU.
The aim of the "better bridge" course is to develop the skills of players who would like to take their game to a higher level. This will be achieved by concentrating on bidding procedures and card play lectures, followed by playing the cards on the topic of the evening.
On both sessions notes, advice and further tutorials will be offered to cement the learning process.

Fort Matilda BC
Bridge lessons for beginners are held on Mondays @ 2.00pm In Fort Matilda Bridge Club, Tarbet Street Gourock. No previous knowledge is required.
Play & Learn sessions are held on Wednesday mornings @ 10.00am. These take the form of a short seminar (with handouts) and a tournament (max. 12 boards).
