General Information
A little history of the Club
Sandbach and District Bridge Club was formed in 1973 as a result of a number of people who had attended a series of evening classes, run by Audrey Roders at Sandbach High School, wishing to carry on playing bridge.  One of the original class members, Dennis Bell, worked at Sandbach Fire Station and he was able to orgainise facilities there for the club.  Half of the table money was donated to the Fire Brigade's Benevolent Fund.  Dennis is still a member of the club, as is jean Overend, who joined soon afterwards.  Initially rubber bridge was played but that soon changed to duplicate when it was realised that the latter was a superior format for competition.

The club has had a succession of venues in and around Sandbach and since early 2000 the club has met at Cranage Village Hall.  There are over 40 members drawn from a wide radius around Sandbach and the club's policy is to offer good quality bridge played in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.  New players are quests are warmly welcome and individual players can always be fixed up with a partner as an introduction to the club.
