The Sale Congress will be held at the Laurels again on the weekend of 18th & 19th of May .

Laurie Kelso will be the Director & Chris Heesom the Assistant Director .

The Swiss Pairs will start at 1pm on Sat with a break for the evening meal which will be catered for by Duarts . Dessert will be cheese , fruit & biscuits & drinks may be purchased from the Bar .

The Swiss Teams will start at 10 am & homemade soup , mixed sandwiches & fruit platters will be provided for lunch . The Bar will again be open for drinks . As usual , any special dietary requirements will only be dealt with if they are requested before final numbers are given to the caters.

Tea ,coffee , iced water & a delectable range of home baking will be available both days

plus nibbles at the end of play on Sunday .

George is Convener this year , Di is coordinating the catering arrangements & Lorraine is running the Raffle .Those members who are unable to play in the Congress will have the chance to purchase some raffle tickets the week before .

Marg will also be happy to accept Entry Fees from Club members .

COMPSCORE 2

Since the beginning of November , the Club has been using the Compscore program .

As we are unable to set up the movement & Bridgemates until we know how many Tables there are , could we ALL please try to arrive 10 minutes before play is due to start or phone the Club if running late . I know only too well that this is a big ask for some of us but it is the only way to allow us to start the sessions on time .

While we are all doing our apprenticeship , I have put up a Self- Roster for which requires 2 members per session - a Director who will run the session & a Compscorer who will be responsible for setting up the movement , distributing the Bridgemates then checking the names & scores before printing the results & uploading them onto the website .

I hope this will allow the Directors a chance to become comfortable with Compscore & maybe some of those who are learning Compscore might have a go at Directing .
