| Sale Clubrooms |
The Sale Bridge Club no longer has its Clubroom at the Sale Showgrounds .
Until further notice , the Club will play its regular Monday & Wednesday sessions only in the ground floor room under the Grandstand at the Greenwattle Racecourse .
To access this venue , drive in the Laurels entry & park in front of the Laurels ( as for our Congress ) . Walk to the right around the Laurels , past the toilet blocks on the right & our room is next to the raceday canteen under the Grandstand.
Members who are unable to walk too far may drive around & park directly opposite .
As the Club may only use the Racecourse facilities in daytime hours , the Thursday informal sessions are on hold & the Friday evening sessions are now held at the Senior Citizens Rooms on the corner of Desailly & MacAllister Streets with ample on-street parking . Normal start time is 7pm. As this event is dependent on someone being available to transport Boards & open & lock up the venue , those who travel should check with David Hudson ( 51 44 4630 ) beforehand.

Sincere apologies to all those who came to play Wed Oct 5th in what was meant to be the 1st round of the Midweek Pairs . Unfortunately, due to a glitch the week before we inadvertently played the same set of Boards 2 Wednesdays running so the 5th has had to be scrubbed & the event rescheduled to the dates below.
The next Club Red Point Event is the Midweek Pairs which is listed in the Diary to be played on Wed Oct 12th & 19th . However, as we are unable to access the Racecourse on Wed the 19th due to preparations for the Sale Cup that weekend ,this event will now be held on Wed Oct 12th & 26th . The 12th will also incorporate our monthly Nationwide session. The Midweek Pairs is a walk in event but Pairs must play both weeks to be eligible to win . Members are welcome to play either week or both weeks with a different partner & will be awarded session Red Points.
The annual Sale/Traralgon Interclub which is listed in the Diary to be played on Wed Oct 26th will be now played on Oct 19th at Traralgon . Please support this event if you can . Rides can be arranged for those who prefer not to drive .
Bairnsdale Bridge Club are holding their annual Congress on the weekend of Oct 22nd & 23rd at their usual venue - St Mary's Hall & a fortnight later South Gippsland are holding theirs at the Dakers centre in Leongatha . Online Entry for both these Congresses is via Bridge Unlimited .
Finally , Monday Oct 31st will be our Melbourne Cup Lunch & we will really feel the part this year !

| BEST PLAYERS for the MONTH |
Each month , the Masterpoint Secretary runs an Eclectic Green Point Event for each of the Monday , Wednesday & Friday sessions to determine the BEST INDIVIDUAL PERCENTAGE .
Only those who play at least 3 Monday sessions ,3 Wednesday sessions or 3 Friday sessions with the same or a different partner will be eligible .
Also there are some months where there are insufficient sessions or players to run the Event - usually Friday
The BEST PLAYERS for SEPTEMBER are...
MONDAY - INSUFFICIENT NUMBERS (due to Red Pt Event)
WEDNESDAY - 1st CORRIE VAN LIER with 63.74%, 2nd JEANNE ANDERSON with 60.71%

The Bill Hughes simultaneous (Against the World) Pairs were played during the last week in June, 2016. There were 962 pairs from 68 different clubs all over the world taking part in this event. Australia fared brilliantly taking out 5 of the top 15 places -

Faye Symons and Denis Upsall from Bendigo Bridge Club 2nd
Jeanne Anderson and Helen Cantwell from Sale Bridge Club 8th
